Who is responsible

The data controller is Best Tool For Me, that is, whoever runs this site, reachable at imodejam@gmail.com. You can use the same address to ask about the processing and to exercise the rights described on this page.

What data is processed

Data you enter in the tools. Dates, hours, amounts and similar values are used only to compute the result in your browser. They are not sent to our servers and we cannot see them.

Data kept on your device. Tools where you type many values (for example the grade average, the discount calculator, the time card, the business days calculator, the loan, VAT and square footage calculators) remember what you last entered in your browser’s local storage, so that you can pick up where you left off. These values are never sent to our servers, are not used for tracking and are not shared with anyone. You can remove them at any time with “Clear saved data” under the tool or by clearing the site data in your browser. Files and code you open in the HTML viewer are never saved. The same storage remembers your theme and your cookie choices.

Server logs. When a page is requested, the web server and the hosting provider record technical data such as the IP address, date and time, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and find faults. Logs are kept only for as long as needed for those purposes.

Messages you send us. If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer you.

Optional analytics and advertising

The site may in future use Google Analytics, to measure visits in aggregate, and Google AdSense, to show advertising. If so, neither will load until you accept in a cookie banner, and this policy and the cookie policy will describe it before it starts.

Legal bases and retention

• Delivering and securing the site (server logs): our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
• Statistics and advertising: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting earlier processing.
• Answering your messages: our legitimate interest in replying, or steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose requires. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer and to keep a record of corrections.

Who receives data

Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf. If you accept analytics or advertising, Google processes the data described above under its own terms. We do not sell personal data. Data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area by these providers, which rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. To exercise a right, write to imodejam@gmail.com. You may also complain to your data protection authority: for example the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy or the ANSPDCP in Romania.

Children and changes

The site is not directed at children under 16 (or the lower age set by the law of your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data. We may update this policy; the date at the bottom shows the latest version.
